What is Spinnaker / gennaker in Sailing?
Large, light downwind sails hoisted after the windward mark to add power off the wind. A symmetric spinnaker flies from a pole; a gennaker (asymmetric) flies from a fixed bowsprit, standard on skiffs and modern boats.
Example: The crew hoisted the gennaker seconds after rounding.
