What is Gybe (jibe) in Sailing?

Turning the stern through the wind while sailing downwind, swinging the boom and sails across to the other side. Faster but riskier than a tack, especially in strong wind, where a badly timed gybe can capsize the boat.

Example: The 49er capsized in a heavy-air gybe at the bottom mark.
