What is Run and reach in Sailing?

Downwind points of sail: a run is sailing nearly directly away from the wind, a reach is sailing across it. Reaching is usually a boat's fastest point of sail, and downwind legs are where spinnakers and foiling speeds appear.

Example: They hoisted the gennaker for the run to the leeward mark.
