What is Wall in Football?

A line of defending players standing shoulder-to-shoulder 9.15 m from a free kick to block the direct path to goal, positioned by the goalkeeper to cover one side while the keeper guards the other. Attackers sometimes plant their own player in the wall or duck a gap into it.
