What is Sweeper keeper in Football?
A goalkeeper who plays far off their line, sweeping up through balls behind a high defence and acting as an extra passer in build-up. Manuel Neuer defined the modern version of the role.
Example: The sweeper keeper raced 30 metres out of goal to clear the through ball with his head.
