What is PPDA in Football?
Passes Per Defensive Action — how many passes a team allows opponents before making a tackle, interception, or foul in the attacking portion of the pitch. Lower numbers indicate a more aggressive press; it is the standard metric for pressing intensity.
Example: A PPDA under 9 marked them as one of the most aggressive pressing sides in Europe.
