What is DOGSO in Football?

Denying an Obvious Goal-Scoring Opportunity — fouling or deliberately handling the ball to stop an opponent who would otherwise likely score. Punished with a red card, softened to a yellow when a defender makes a genuine attempt to play the ball inside their own penalty area (where a penalty is also given).

Example: The last defender hauled down the striker and was sent off for DOGSO.
