What is Assist in Football?
The final pass or touch that directly leads to a teammate's goal. Assists are the standard creativity counting stat, though definitions vary slightly between data providers, which is why analysts also use expected assists (xA).
Example: The full-back leads the league in assists thanks to his crossing.
