What is Added time (stoppage time) in Football?

Minutes played beyond the 45 of each half to compensate for stoppages — substitutions, injuries, goals, VAR checks, and time-wasting. The board shows the minimum; late drama in the '90+' minutes is one of football's signatures. Distinct from extra time, which is a separate 30-minute period in knockout ties.

Example: The equaliser arrived in the sixth minute of added time.
