What is Remise in Fencing?
An immediate renewal of an attack that missed or was parried, replacing the point on target without withdrawing the arm. It does not regain priority, so in foil and sabre a remise loses to a correctly executed riposte.
Example: His remise hit first but the referee awarded the riposte.
