What is Sabre in Fencing?
The cutting weapon: hits with the edge as well as the point are valid on everything above the waist except the hands. Right of way applies and forward cross-steps are banned, producing fencing's fastest, most explosive discipline.
Example: The sabre semi-final was over in under two minutes of fencing time.
