What is Lamé in Fencing?
The conductive metallic over-jacket that maps the valid target for the scoring apparatus — covering the torso in foil, and everything above the waist (with a conductive mask) in sabre. Hits on the lamé fire the coloured light; épéeists don't wear one.
Example: The tip skidded off the lamé and the coloured light confirmed the touch.
