What is Counter-riposte in Fencing?
The attacker's answer to a riposte: parrying the defender's riposte and hitting back in turn. Long parry-riposte-counter-riposte rallies are the 'conversation of the blades' at its purest.
Example: The exchange ran three blade actions deep before his counter-riposte landed.
