What is Counter-attack in Fencing?
Attacking into the opponent's attack instead of defending. In épée it is a staple — hit first (or within the double window) and you score. In foil and sabre a counter-attack loses to a correct attack unless it lands with the attacker's priority broken.
Example: Her counter-attack to the wrist repeatedly punished his slow build-up.
