What is Free position in Diving?

The designation (letter D) used for twisting dives, permitting a combination of positions through the dive's phases rather than one fixed shape. It exists because twisting mechanics require the body to change shape mid-flight.

Example: The 5253B is piked, but many twisters are declared in free position.
