What is Flat (smash) in Diving?

Landing on the water front- or back-first instead of slicing in vertically — painful from 3m and genuinely dangerous from 10m. A flat landing scores at or near zero and usually ends the diver's event.

Example: She opened early and went flat from the tower, exiting the final.
