What is Turnover in Rugby?

Any time possession switches from one team to the other outside of normal restarts — a breakdown steal, an intercepted pass, a held-up maul, or forcing a knock-on. Turnover ball is prized because the defence is unstructured.

Example: The counter-attack try came straight from a breakdown turnover.
