What is Offside in Rugby?
Being in front of a teammate who last played the ball, or in front of the relevant offside line at a ruck, maul, scrum or lineout. Offside players must not interfere with play; infringing gives away a penalty. Rugby's offside lines move with every phase.
Example: The defence was pinged for offside creeping up before the ball left the ruck.
