What is Offload in Rugby?

A pass thrown by the ball carrier during or immediately after contact, before going to ground, keeping the ball alive and bypassing the ruck. High-risk, high-reward — offloading teams create broken-field chances but risk turnovers.

Example: A one-handed offload out of the tackle sent the winger away.
