What is The square in Gaelic Football?
The small rectangle in front of goal where the goalkeeper is protected. The large rectangle outside it defines where fouls on attackers give penalties. 'Bombing the square' means lofting high balls onto the goalmouth.
Example: They launched high ball after high ball into the square.
