What is Mark in Gaelic Football?

A protected free kick awarded for a clean catch of a sufficiently long kick — most prominently a clean catch from a kickout. The catcher may take the free unimpeded or play on immediately.

Example: The midfielder claimed the mark from the towering kickout.
