What is Kickout in Gaelic Football?

The goalkeeper's restart after a score or a wide. Under the 2025 rules kickouts must travel beyond the 40-metre arc, making the contested midfield catch a central battleground again. Kickout retention is a key team statistic.

Example: They pressed the kickout and forced a turnover inside 50 metres.
