What is Wide in Cricket?

A delivery judged too far from the batter to be hit with a normal cricket stroke, either down the leg side or wide of off stump. It costs one run, does not count as a ball of the over, and must be bowled again. Limited-overs cricket applies a much stricter wide line than Tests.
