What is LBW in Cricket?

Leg Before Wicket — a dismissal where the ball hits the batter's body (usually the pad) before the bat, and the umpire rules it would have gone on to hit the stumps. The ball must not pitch outside leg stump, and if it strikes the batter outside the off-stump line, they are out only if they offered no shot. It is the dismissal most commonly challenged through DRS ball-tracking.
