What is Powerplay in Cricket?

A phase of a limited-overs innings with mandatory fielding restrictions. In T20s, only two fielders may stand outside the 30-yard circle during the first six overs; ODIs have three phases with progressively looser limits. Batters typically attack hardest in the powerplay because boundary riders are scarce.

Example: India raced to 60/0 in the powerplay with the field up.
