What is Bouncer in Cricket?

A fast, short-pitched ball that rears up towards the batter's chest or head. Used to intimidate and to force mistimed hook or pull shots. Playing conditions limit how many a bowler may bowl per over, and dangerous repeated use can be penalised.

Example: The bouncer barrage forced the tailender onto the back foot before the yorker cleaned him up.
