What is Wicketkeeper in Cricket?
The gloved fielder crouched behind the stumps who takes deliveries the batter misses, effects stumpings and many catches and run outs. The only fielder allowed to wear gloves. Modern keepers are expected to be frontline batters too.
Example: A lightning stumping off the leg-spinner showed the keeper's fast hands.
