What is Slip in Cricket?

A catching position beside the wicketkeeper, waiting for edges off the bat. Teams may stack multiple slips (first slip, second slip, and so on) when the ball is swinging or seaming, especially with a new ball in Tests.

Example: Three slips and a gully crowded the batter under cloudy skies.
