What is Crease in Cricket?

The painted lines at each end of the pitch. The popping crease, 4 feet in front of the stumps, marks the batter's safe ground: a batter outside it when the stumps are broken can be run out or stumped. 'At the crease' simply means currently batting.

Example: She dragged her bat over the crease just before the throw hit the stumps.
