What is Repechage in Rowing?

A second-chance race for crews that failed to qualify directly from their heat. The top finishers in the repechage advance to the next round, so a crew is only eliminated after losing twice. The word comes from the French for 'fishing out again'.

Example: After a slow heat, the Indian quad went through the repechage to reach the semifinal.
