What is Bow in Rowing?
Both the front end of the boat (the end that crosses the finish line first) and the rower seated nearest to it, in seat 1. The bow rower is often the crew's most technical, since errors are magnified at the ends of the boat.
Example: The verdict went to the photo finish, decided by whose bow crossed first.
