What is Quarterback in American Football?
The offense's leader and most important player: he receives the snap, reads the defense, and throws, hands off, or runs. QB play drives modern football so heavily that teams build entire rosters and salary structures around the position.
Example: The quarterback audibled to a screen pass when he saw the blitz coming.
