What is Interception in American Football?
A forward pass caught by a defender, instantly turning possession over. The intercepting team may return it, sometimes all the way for a pick-six. Quarterbacks are judged heavily on their interception counts.
Example: The safety read the QB's eyes and jumped the route for an interception.
