What is Oversteer in Formula 1?

A handling balance where the rear of the car slides more than the front, making the car rotate — spectacular but tyre-hungry and crash-prone. The opposite, understeer, is when the front slides and the car runs wide.

Example: Snap oversteer out of the slow corners was chewing up his rear tyres.
