What is Overcut in Formula 1?
The opposite of the undercut: staying out longer than a rival who has pitted, using clear air and low fuel to lap quickly, and emerging ahead after your own later stop. It works best when fresh tyres take time to switch on or the rival exits into traffic.
Example: The overcut worked because the cars that stopped early got stuck behind a backmarker train.
