What is Delta in Formula 1?
A time difference, usually between a driver's current pace and a reference — the gap to another car, to a target lap time, or to the minimum time drivers must respect under a Virtual Safety Car. Engineers constantly radio deltas to drivers.
Example: He was told to keep a positive delta to the safety-car line until the restart.
