What is Aka / Ao in Karate?
Red and blue — the identifiers of the two kumite fighters, worn as belt colours and used by judges when signalling scores ('aka, yuko!'). Aka traditionally occupies the referee's right side.
Example: The flags went up for ao's head kick.
