What is Ippon in Karate?
The three-point score in WKF kumite — the maximum for a single technique. Awarded for a kick to the head or neck, or for any scoring technique delivered on an opponent who has been thrown or has fallen.
Example: The head-height hook kick brought ippon and turned the bout around.
