What is Velodrome in Cycling?

An oval banked track for track cycling, 250 m per lap at Olympic level, usually with a wooden surface indoors. The steep banking lets riders hold speed through the turns and dive down the track to attack. India's best-known velodrome is at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in Delhi.
