What is Peloton in Cycling?

The main bunch of riders in a road race. Riding inside it saves a large share of energy through drafting, so the peloton can sustain speeds no lone rider can match. Race tactics largely revolve around when to leave its shelter.

Example: The peloton caught the breakaway with five kilometres to go.
