What is Knock-up (warm-up) in Squash?

The pre-match period in which both players share the court to warm themselves and — crucially — the ball, hitting alternately on each side. A cold ball barely bounces, so the knock-up genuinely shapes early rallies.

Example: He used the knock-up to test the back corners of an unfamiliar glass court.
