What is Jab in Boxing?

A quick, straight punch thrown with the lead hand. It is boxing's most-thrown punch, used to measure distance, disrupt the opponent's rhythm, set up power punches and score points without taking big risks.

Example: A busy jab is often the difference in close rounds on the judges' cards.
