What is Prone in Biathlon?

The lying-down shooting position, used for roughly half of all bouts. The body is supported on a mat with the rifle steadied by a sling, so athletes must hit a much smaller 45 mm target zone. Prone bouts are typically faster and more accurate than standing ones.
