What is Second server (abolished) in Badminton?

Under pre-2006 doubles rules each pair had two serves per turn of service. Modern rally scoring abolished it: a doubles side now has exactly one server per turn, losing the serve as soon as it loses a rally on serve.

Example: Veterans still shout 'second server' in club games, but the law is long gone.
