What is Clear in Badminton?
A high, deep shot sent to the opponent's back boundary line. Defensive clears buy time and push the opponent back; attacking (flatter) clears rush them. The clear is the basic reset button of singles play.
Example: Under pressure she threw up a high clear to the backhand corner and recovered to the centre.
