What is Unforced error in Tennis?

A missed shot attributed to the player's own mistake rather than the opponent's pressure — a routine ball put into the net or long. The winners-to-unforced-errors ratio is a standard shorthand for match quality.

Example: He sprayed 45 unforced errors and never found his range.
