What is Grand Slam in Tennis?

One of the four major championships — the Australian Open, Roland-Garros (French Open), Wimbledon and the US Open. 'Winning the Grand Slam' strictly means winning all four in a calendar year, but each event is commonly called 'a Slam'.

Example: The career Grand Slam — all four majors at any time — is the sport's benchmark of greatness.
