What is Forehand and backhand in Tennis?

The two fundamental groundstrokes. A forehand is hit with the palm-side of the racquet hand facing the ball (a right-hander's right side); a backhand is hit from the opposite side, with one or two hands on the grip. Most players attack with the forehand and defend with the backhand.

Example: Her two-handed backhand down the line is the best shot in the women's game.
