What is Combination situation (combo) in Surfing?
When a surfer trails by more than a single maximum ride can recover, so they need two new scoring waves to take the lead. Being 'combo-ed' late in a heat is close to a lost position.
Example: After the 9-point ride he had his opponent in a combination situation.
