What is Trap in Shooting?

The shotgun discipline in which clays are launched away from the shooter from a bunker in front of the firing line, at varying angles and elevations unknown to the shooter in advance. India's first Olympic shooting medal — Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore's 2004 silver — came in the double trap variant.
